It is a status page product first, built around fast, good-looking pages on a custom domain with subscriber notifications. It includes light checks, but the page rather than the monitoring is what you are buying.
It includes basic checks, and they are best treated as a convenience rather than as your alerting system. If you need SSL expiry, DNS, TCP port, cron heartbeat or API keyword checks, or confirmation from several regions before an alert fires, you will want a dedicated monitoring tool feeding the page.
Instatus publishes tiers on its pricing page, and in July 2026 we could read the limits reliably but not the dollar figures, so we will not quote a price we did not verify.
