How much does Uptrends cost?

Uptrends publishes three tiers. Read on their own pricing page in August 2026, Core starts from $42 a month and Pro from $60 a month on annual billing, with a stated 10% annual discount, and Enterprise is custom priced. Paid monthly instead, the same tiers read $46 and $66. The page carries a currency toggle for EUR, GBP and USD, so the dollar figures below are the ones a US buyer sees. Every tier is preceded by the word "from", which matters more than the number itself.

One warning if you check this yourself: the billing toggle makes that page genuinely easy to misread, and an automated read of it returned the annual price as the higher of the two, which cannot be right. The ratio settles it. $42 is about 9% below $46 and $60 is about 9% below $66, which is the advertised annual discount, and a discount can only make the annual figure the smaller one. So $42 and $60 are the annual prices and the larger numbers are what you pay month to month.

The number that is missing from that table is the one most buyers are trying to find: how many monitors does $42 a month actually cover? Uptrends does not answer that on the pricing page, because monitor capacity is not sold by the monitor. It is sold in credits.

How do Uptrends monitoring credits work?

Monitoring credits are Uptrends' unit of capacity. The pricing page describes them as your annual monitoring capacity: flexible, reallocatable at any time, and valid through your contract year, with the allocation resetting when you renew. What you are buying, in other words, is a yearly pool you spend across whatever mix of monitors you run.

The credit cost is not uniform across monitor types, and this is the part that decides your bill. Uptrends' own credit documentation, read in August 2026, splits it four ways, and each one is metered on a different unit.

Three rules in that documentation are worth knowing before you model a budget, because each one cuts in your favor and none of them is obvious from the pricing page. First, and most useful, the check interval does not affect uptime credit calculation. Uptrends states it plainly: you can monitor continuously "without worrying about using extra credits for more frequent checks". An uptime monitor running every minute costs the same one credit as the same monitor running every hour, so there is no reason to slow a check down to save money. Note the limit of that rule, though. It is written about uptime credits, and browser credits work the other way, with the price of a credit changing across the 5, 10 and 15 minute intervals.

Second, monitors in Development mode consume no credits at all, while Production and Staging mode monitors each consume one. Uptrends' own worked example makes the point: three monitors, one of them a redesigned homepage left in development mode, spend two credits rather than three. If you keep experiments or a pre-launch environment under watch, parking them in Development mode is free.

Third, API monitors are billed on steps rather than monitors. Each HTTP request in a multi-step API monitor is one credit, and the monitor count does not enter the calculation. A single ten step API monitor therefore costs ten times what a one step check costs, which is the opposite of the intuition you build from the uptime rule. Transaction monitors follow the same shape: text input, hover actions and content checks are free, while navigation, file uploads and clicks that load a new page each spend a credit, and every waterfall chart and screenshot adds one more.

The gap is that neither the pricing page nor the credit documentation publishes a base credit price per monitor type, or the interval multipliers for browser credits. So the arithmetic that turns "from $42 a month" into "this many monitors at this interval" is only available through Uptrends' own calculator or a conversation with their sales team. That is a legitimate way to sell a platform with four very different monitor types, and for a buyer running a mix of transaction scripts and API chains it is arguably fairer than a flat count. It is simply a different purchase from picking a tier off a page, and it is the single biggest reason teams that only need availability checks go looking for an Uptrends alternative.

When Uptrends is the better buy, honestly

We are not going to pretend Uptimehub replaces Uptrends for everyone. Three requirements should send you to Uptrends and stop you reading here.

You need scripted transaction monitoring. Uptrends drives a real browser through multi-step journeys: log in, add to cart, check out, and fail the check when step four breaks. You need multi-year data retention. Uptrends Enterprise keeps 730 days. If a contract or an auditor requires two years of raw check history, that is a hard requirement and not a preference.
