A Better Stack Alternative Priced Per Monitor, Not Per Seat

Better Stack, formerly Better Uptime, is a modern, well-designed platform with attractive status pages and solid incident management. Its pricing leans on seats, though, so the bill climbs as your team and your client list grow. Uptimehub charges per monitor and never per seat: invite your whole team, and your clients, at no extra cost. You still get a branded public status page and multi-region checks with auto-retry on by default, all in one flat plan with pricing published on the page.

Questions buyers ask about switching from Better Stack

Two meters run at once. Their pricing page in July 2026 includes 10 monitors, then charges $25 per month for each additional 50 monitors ($21 billed yearly), and uptime access for a responder is $34 per month monthly or $29 billed yearly on top of that. Telemetry is billed separately by data volume, and the free tier covers 10 monitors and one status page.

Partly. Monitors are billed in blocks and responder seats are billed on top, so both the size of your estate and the size of your team move the bill. That model suits a small team watching a large estate, and works against you when the team grows or when you want to give clients and stakeholders their own access. Per-monitor pricing inverts that trade: people are free, endpoints are what you pay for.

It is the same company. Better Uptime was renamed Better Stack as the product expanded from uptime monitoring into logs, metrics and incident management. Older articles and comparisons still use the previous name, so you will see both referring to the same service.

Uptime and heartbeat monitoring, on-call scheduling and incident response, status pages, and log and metric collection. The incident management side is the real draw: if you run a formal on-call rota with escalation policies, that is what you are buying.

Only once more than one person is expected to respond. A small team is usually well served by alerts landing in Slack and email, because everyone sees them. Formal escalation earns its cost when you have a rota, an out-of-hours commitment, and a need to prove who was paged and when.
