There is a permanently free tier covering 10 monitors at 5 minute check intervals. It is genuinely usable for a personal site or a staging box. The limits that matter on the free plan are the check interval and the reduced alerting, since a 5 minute gap between checks can miss a short outage completely.
Watching whether websites, servers and certificates are reachable, and alerting when they are not. It covers uptime, SSL expiry, domain expiry and page speed testing, which is a broader spread than most pure uptime tools. Teams typically use it as the single external checker for a portfolio of sites.
