How much does Uptime.com cost?
Uptime.com costs $9 a month billed monthly, or $84 a year ($7 a month) billed annually, for its smallest Website Monitoring tier: 10 basic checks, 1 advanced check and 25 SMS alerts. There are no named plans. You pick one of 22 quantity tiers that run from 10 to 30,000 basic checks and from $9 to $13,343 a month. Between 50 and 1,000 checks every tier costs the same $0.60 per check per month on annual billing, so there is no volume discount until you pass 1,000 checks.
That is a clean model once you see it. Every tier carries the same features, including transaction, API and page speed checks, unlimited users and 24 months of history, so the only thing you are choosing is volume. The catch is that the headline price covers checks only. A public status page and more than three locations per check are separate lines, and at the small end they can double the bill.

The pricing page shows one card with a quantity dropdown, so you only ever see the tier you have selected. Here is the whole ladder. The annual column is the yearly total Uptime.com charges up front; the per check column is that total spread over twelve months.

Basic checks
HTTP(S), SSL certificate, DNS, ping, TCP and UDP port, SSH, SMTP, IMAP, POP, NTP, domain expiry, blacklist and malware. These are the checks most teams mean by uptime monitoring, and the page lists a one minute check frequency for them.
Advanced checks
API monitoring, transaction and micro-transaction checks, page speed, webhook, heartbeat and third party monitoring. The allowance is small at the bottom (1 at 10 checks, 3 at 25) and settles at one advanced check per ten basic checks from 500 up.
SMS alerts
Included alerts grow with the tier until 1,000 checks, where they stop at 1,500 a month. They move once more, to 2,000, at 7,500 checks and then stay flat to 30,000. Large accounts should plan on email, Slack or PagerDuty routing rather than SMS.
Uptime.com cost per check: $0.60 flat from 50 to 1,000 checks
Divide each annual total by twelve and by the check count, and eight tiers in a row land on exactly the same number: $0.60 per basic check per month, from 50 checks all the way to 1,000. A team that grows twentyfold pays exactly twenty times as much. Most monitoring price lists bend downward long before that.
It is not a coincidence of rounding. If $0.60 is the annual rate and the annual discount is 20%, the monthly price should be $0.75 a check, and it is: $75 for 100 checks, $150 for 200, $375 for 500, $750 for 1,000. The one tier that does not divide exactly, 750 checks at $562, is $562.50 rounded down. So the middle of the ladder is built from a single rate, and only the two ends differ.
10 to 25 checks

The only place small buyers get a break: the 10 check tier is $7 a month on annual, a touch above the flat rate but a low floor.
50 to 1,000 checks

Eight tiers, one rate. Moving up a tier buys headroom, never a better price per check.
1,500 to 30,000 checks
$0.58 to $0.36
The volume discount starts here and ends about 41% below the flat rate at the top tier.
The practical consequence is that you should size to the tier you need now, not the one you expect to grow into. There is no per check saving in buying ahead anywhere under 1,000 checks, so the extra tier is pure prepayment for headroom.
Uptime.com status page pricing and the other add-ons
The rate table behind the pricing page carries three more services beside Website Monitoring: status pages, real user monitoring and probe server locations. Today the page renders only the Website Monitoring card, so confirm an add-on at checkout or with sales before you budget it. These are Uptime.com's own figures, though, not a third party estimate.

At the entry tier, the status page costs more than the monitoring
One status page with 250 subscribers is $13 a month, against $9 for the 10 check tier. On annual billing it is $120 a year against $84. A small team that wants a public page to point customers at pays more for the page than for the checks feeding it.
Five locations per check costs as much as 50 checks
The included tier gives 12 locations and up to 3 per check. The next one, 86 locations with 5 per check, is $38 a month or $360 a year. That $360 is exactly the annual price of the 50 check monitoring tier. 106 locations with 15 per check is $69 a month or $660 a year.
Real user monitoring
Ten tiers by data points: 50,000 a month for $7 or $60 a year, up to 10 million for $938 or $9,000. Real user monitoring is something uptime tools like ours do not do at all, so if you need it, that is a point for Uptime.com.
Uptime.com annual discount, and the old prices still quoted everywhere
The pricing page says you "save over 20% with a yearly plan". Work it out tier by tier and the saving is over 20% on the three smallest tiers only: 22.2% at 10 checks, 21.1% at 25 and at 50. From 100 checks up it is exactly 20.0% on every tier, apart from 750 checks, where the rounded monthly price makes it 19.9%. On a mid-size account the claim is off by a fraction of a point, which does not change the decision, but it does tell you the discount is a flat 20% and nothing more.

The last row caught us too. Our own Uptime.com alternative page quoted $108 a year until this review, because that is what the page shows before its calculator runs. The rendered page, which is what you can actually buy, says $84.
When Uptime.com is worth the money, and when a flat per-monitor plan is
Uptime.com is the better buy when you need what every one of its tiers carries: scripted transaction checks, real user monitoring, formal SLA reports, 24 months of check history and a probe network of over 100 locations. Those are real capabilities that a straightforward uptime monitor does not have, and on a cost per check basis Uptime.com is roughly half the price of Pingdom at every size.
The numbers turn when your list is mostly websites, APIs, certificates and ports, and you want a public status page. Then you pay Uptime.com for the checks, again for the page, and again if you want more than three locations on a check. A flat per-monitor plan folds all three into one price.

Agencies feel the gap most, because status pages scale with clients rather than with checks. Twenty client pages add $139 a month on Uptime.com before a single extra check. UptimeHub checks sites, APIs, ports, SSL and domain expiry from six regions with auto-retry, asserts on the response body, and includes branded status pages on every plan, so the page count never shows up on the invoice.
Where these numbers come from, and what is not claimed
Every price here comes from uptime.com/pricing. The calculator on that page is driven by a rate table in the page itself, with a monthly price, an annual total and the included quantities for every tier. We read that table directly and then checked it against the rendered page: the annual view shows $7 a month and an $84 yearly total, the monthly view shows $9.
The check types, the 1 minute frequency, the 24 month history, unlimited users and the 30 day guarantee are quoted from the same page. The locations figures come from the probe server entries in the rate table.
Not claimed: whether the status page, real user monitoring and location add-ons can be bought self-serve today, since the page currently shows only the monitoring card; any Enterprise or negotiated price; the cost of SMS alerts beyond the included allowance; and any check interval faster than the one minute the page lists.

A basic check is a lightweight probe: HTTP(S), SSL, DNS, ping, TCP, UDP, SSH, SMTP, IMAP, POP, NTP, domain expiry, blacklist or malware. An advanced check simulates real use: API monitoring, transaction checks, page speed, webhook, heartbeat and third party monitoring. From 500 checks up, each tier includes one advanced check for every ten basic checks.
Is there a volume discount on Uptime.com?
Not until you pass 1,000 checks. On annual billing every tier from 50 to 1,000 basic checks costs exactly $0.60 per check per month, and on monthly billing $0.75. The per check rate only starts falling at 1,500 checks and reaches about $0.36 a month at 30,000 checks on annual billing.
How much do you save with Uptime.com annual billing?
Exactly 20% on every tier from 100 checks up. The page advertises saving over 20%, and that is true only on the three smallest tiers: 22.2% at 10 checks, and 21.1% at 25 and 50 checks. Annual billing is also backed by a 30 day guarantee according to the pricing page.
Does Uptime.com include a status page?
No, the status page is priced as its own line. In the rate table behind the pricing page, one status page with 250 subscribers is $13 a month or $120 a year, and 100 pages with 150,000 subscribers is $513 a month. At the entry tier the status page costs more than the monitoring it reports on.
How many locations does Uptime.com check from?
The default tier at no extra cost gives 12 check locations with up to 3 locations per check. Moving to 86 locations with 5 per check costs $38 a month or $360 a year, the same as the whole 50 check monitoring tier, and 106 locations with 15 per check costs $69 a month or $660 a year.
Why do some sites say Uptime.com costs $20, $67 or $285?
Those are retired named plans, Starter, Essential and Premium, from an older price list. The current page has no named plans and none of those figures appear in its rate table. The same goes for a $19 status page figure. If a summary quotes them, it is describing a price list you can no longer buy.
Is Uptime.com cheaper than Pingdom?
Yes, at every size. Both vendors sell exactly the same 22 check counts, from 10 to 30,000, and Uptime.com charges 47% to 58% of the Pingdom price at each step on monthly billing. At 10 checks it is $9 against $18, at 1,000 checks $750 against $1,295. Our comparison post walks through every tier.
Is Uptime.com worth it for a small team?
It is worth it if you need transaction checks, real user monitoring or formal SLA reports, because every tier carries those features. If you mainly watch websites, APIs and certificates and want a public status page, a flat per monitor plan with the status page included is cheaper: 20 monitors plus a status page is $32 a month on Uptime.com against $12 on UptimeHub.
