OpManager pricing and ManageEngine OpManager cost per device

OpManager is sold in device packs, in two editions, on two billing models, with users and lite devices on top. Enter your device count and the calculator prices the subscription and the perpetual license side by side and shows the year the one-time license starts to pay back.

OpManager cost calculator, USD

Live

US dollar list prices from the ManageEngine store. Packs are fixed sizes, so you pay for the smallest pack that covers your count. Above 1,000 devices the calculator switches to Enterprise, which is priced here on subscription only.

How much does OpManager cost?

ManageEngine OpManager is licensed per device. On an annual subscription, Standard costs $95 a year for 10 devices, $795 for 100 and $4,095 for 1,000; Professional costs $145, $1,145 and $5,995 for the same packs. Above 1,000 devices you move to Enterprise, from $4,595 a year for 250 devices to $33,345 for 10,000. A perpetual license costs about 2.5 times the annual price up front plus 20% of that each year for maintenance, so it only becomes the cheaper route in the fourth or fifth year.

ManageEngine publishes its prices, which is more than most network monitoring vendors do, but it publishes them as a store with a dozen tables and two billing tabs. That is why the figure you see quoted most often, Standard at $245 for 10 devices, is the perpetual price, not the yearly one. The annual subscription for 10 devices is $95. Everything on this page is read from the store itself.

The short version

OpManager Standard and Professional pricing for 10 to 1,000 devices

A device is anything OpManager discovers and polls, such as a switch, router, firewall or server, and the license covers every interface, disk and sensor on it. Each pack includes two users. The annual price includes maintenance and support; the perpetual price includes the first year of it.

Devices Standard, per year Standard, perpetual Professional, per year Professional, perpetual Per device a month, Standard / Pro
10 $95 $245 + $49/yr $145 $345 + $69/yr $0.79 / $1.21
25 $245 $595 + $119/yr $345 $795 + $159/yr $0.82 / $1.15
50 $445 $1,095 + $219/yr $645 $1,545 + $309/yr $0.74 / $1.08
100 $795 $1,995 + $399/yr $1,145 $2,845 + $569/yr $0.66 / $0.95
250 $1,845 $4,545 + $909/yr $2,645 $6,595 + $1,319/yr $0.62 / $0.88
500 $2,895 $7,195 + $1,439/yr $3,845 $9,595 + $1,919/yr $0.48 / $0.64
1,000 $4,095 $10,095 + $2,019/yr $5,995 $14,995 + $2,999/yr $0.34 / $0.50

The "+ per year" figure is the maintenance and support renewal from the second year on. Above 1,000 devices Standard and Professional stop, and ManageEngine directs you to Enterprise. One small oddity in the ladder: the 25-device Standard pack works out slightly dearer per device than the 10-device pack, 82 cents against 79, so it only pays to step up once you are past 10 devices anyway.

Four things in the OpManager store the headline prices hide

20.0%

Maintenance is a fixed fifth of the license

On every perpetual row we checked, devices, users and lite devices alike, the yearly maintenance and support fee is exactly 20% of the license price. Because the license is about 2.5 times the annual subscription, the renewal works out at about half a year's subscription.

Year 4

When a perpetual license starts to pay back

Those two ratios put the crossover at about four years for every pack. Counting real prices, perpetual is cheaper in total from year four on 11 of the 14 Standard and Professional packs, and from year five on the other three. Plan to replace the tool sooner and the subscription wins.

1.75x

The step from Professional to Enterprise

Enterprise adds distributed monitoring with remote probes. At 250 devices it costs $4,595 a year against $2,645 for Professional, and at 1,000 devices $10,495 against $5,995. If one central server can reach everything, Professional covers up to 1,000 devices for far less.

$958

Unlimited users cost more than 100 devices

Each pack includes two users. The unlimited user pack is $958 a year, more than the $795 a Standard 100-device license costs. A help desk that wants read access for a dozen technicians adds $378 a year for ten more users.

OpManager perpetual license vs annual subscription

The table follows 100 devices for five years on each model. Year one on perpetual is the license fee, which includes the first year of maintenance. Every later year is the 20% renewal.

On Standard the two lines meet at the end of year four, $3,180 against $3,192, and perpetual is $384 cheaper after five years. On Professional perpetual edges ahead in year four by $28. The difference is real but small; what decides it is whether you will still run OpManager five years from now, and whether a capital purchase or an operating expense suits your budget.

100 devices, running total Standard, annual Standard, perpetual Pro, annual Pro, perpetual
Year 1 $795 $1,995 $1,145 $2,845
Year 2 $1,590 $2,394 $2,290 $3,414
Year 3 $2,385 $2,793 $3,435 $3,983
Year 4 $3,180 $3,192 $4,580 $4,552
Year 5 $3,975 $3,591 $5,725 $5,121

The cheaper running total in each year is set in bold.

OpManager Enterprise, Nexus and MSP pricing

Three more editions sit beside Standard and Professional. Enterprise is for large or spread-out networks and uses remote probes. Nexus, which ManageEngine sold as OpManager Plus, bundles NetFlow bandwidth analysis, configuration management, firewall log analysis, IP address management and switch port mapping; ManageEngine says it saves up to 40% against buying those add-ons one by one. MSP is the multi-tenant build for service providers. Annual subscription prices below.

Devices Enterprise Nexus MSP
50 Not sold $1,233 $795
100 Not sold $2,267 $1,495
250 $4,595 $5,250 $3,295

2,500 $14,745 Quote $18,495
5,000 $20,995 Quote Quote
10,000 $33,345 Quote Quote

Nexus packs include more than two users as they grow: 3 users and 2 firewalls at 250 devices, 5 and 3 at 500, 10 and 5 at 1,000. Enterprise and MSP packs include two users like the smaller editions. ManageEngine's store points buyers who want a hosted version to Site24x7, its sister cloud service, which has its own price list; we break that down on our Site24x7 pricing page.

OpManager add-on prices for users, lite devices and modules

Lite devices are the cheap license unit for simple targets: uptime-only devices, WAN links, access points, network paths and URLs. They run from 37.5 cents a target a month in a pack of 50 down to about 10 cents in a pack of 5,000.

The modules on the right are annual prices for Standard and Professional. Each has its own pack ladder in the store; we list the entry point.

What OpManager costs if you only need website and API uptime checks

OpManager watches URLs as lite devices, and if it already runs your network monitoring, a 50-URL pack for $225 a year is the cheapest way to add them. We would tell you to do exactly that. The picture changes if you are looking at OpManager only to watch public sites and APIs, because then you also buy a base license and run the server. The smallest route is a 10-device Standard pack plus 50 lite devices, $320 a year.

OpManager is cheaper on paper here, and it does far more inside the network. The question is where the check runs. A probe inside your network sees your site as up while a DNS, CDN or ISP routing problem keeps customers out. UptimeHub checks from six regions, retries before it pages anyone and publishes the result on a branded status page. Where these numbers come from, and what we do not claim

ManageEngine sells OpManager through its own online store, which builds its price tables in the browser. We rendered the store pages for OpManager, OpManager Enterprise, Nexus and MSP in US dollars, on both the annual and perpetual tabs, and checked them against the starting prices on ManageEngine's product page: Standard at $245 for 25 devices, Professional at $345 for 25 and Enterprise at $4,595 for 250. All three match the annual column. The rule that the first year of maintenance is included in a perpetual license comes from ManageEngine's licensing FAQ.

We do not state reseller or volume discounts, Enterprise or Nexus perpetual prices, polling intervals, or the cost of the Windows or Linux server and database OpManager needs. For other self-hosted network monitors priced the same way, see PRTG pricing, Checkmk pricing and Zabbix pricing.

OpManager pricing questions

How much does OpManager cost?

OpManager Standard costs $95 a year for 10 devices, $445 for 50, $795 for 100 and $4,095 for 1,000 on an annual subscription. Professional costs $145, $645, $1,145 and $5,995 for the same packs. Every pack includes two users and maintenance and support. Enterprise starts at $4,595 a year for 250 devices.

Is OpManager a one-time purchase?

It can be. ManageEngine sells OpManager Standard and Professional as an annual subscription or as a perpetual license. The perpetual license is a one-time fee, about 2.5 times the annual price, with the first year of maintenance and support included. After that you pay 20% of the license fee every year to keep updates and support.

Is a perpetual OpManager license cheaper than a subscription?

Only if you keep it four or five years. For 100 Standard devices the subscription is $795 a year, while perpetual is $1,995 then $399 a year. After four years the totals are $3,180 and $3,192; after five, $3,975 and $3,591. Most packs cross over in year four, a few in year five.

What is the difference between OpManager Standard and Professional?

Standard covers network discovery, availability and performance monitoring, alerting and dashboards. Professional adds advanced discovery, more reporting and privilege-based user management, and it is the edition the IPAM and switch port mapping add-on is sold for. Professional costs 33% to 53% more than Standard for the same pack, $350 a year more at 100 devices.

How much is OpManager Enterprise?

OpManager Enterprise, the distributed edition with remote probes, is priced from 250 devices. The annual subscription is $4,595 for 250 devices, $6,695 for 500, $10,495 for 1,000, $14,745 for 2,500, $20,995 for 5,000 and $33,345 for 10,000. At 250 and 1,000 devices it costs about 1.75 times Professional.

How much does OpManager Plus or OpManager Nexus cost?

OpManager Nexus, the bundle ManageEngine previously sold as OpManager Plus, adds bandwidth, configuration, firewall, IP address and switch port management to network monitoring. It costs $1,233 a year for 50 devices with 2 users and 1 firewall, $2,267 for 100, $5,250 for 250, $7,667 for 500 and $12,000 for 1,000.

How many users are included in OpManager?

Every OpManager device pack includes two users. Extra users are sold in packs on an annual subscription: one more user is $98 a year, two are $138, five are $238, ten are $378, 25 are $618 and unlimited users cost $958 a year, which is more than a 100-device Standard license.

What is an OpManager lite device?

A lite device is a cheaper license unit for simpler targets: uptime-only devices, WAN links, wireless access points, network paths and URLs. It is an add-on to a regular device pack, sold from 50 lite devices for $225 a year down to 5,000 for $6,245, or 37.5 cents to 10 cents a target a month.

How much does OpManager MSP cost?

OpManager MSP, the multi-tenant edition for managed service providers, costs $795 a year for 50 devices, $1,495 for 100, $3,295 for 250, $5,695 for 500, $9,395 for 1,000 and $18,495 for 2,500, each with two users. Lite devices for MSP start at $295 a year for 50.

Is OpManager good for website uptime monitoring?

It can watch URLs as lite devices, which is cheap if OpManager already runs for your network: 50 URLs add $225 a year. As a standalone website monitor it needs a base license and a server you run, and checks come from that server inside your network, so it cannot see a DNS, CDN or routing fault that only outside visitors hit.

Keep OpManager on the network and watch your public side from outside

UptimeHub checks sites, APIs, ports, SSL certificates and cron jobs from six regions, every 30 seconds on Pro and above, retries before it pages anyone, and powers a branded status page. No device packs, no server to run, monthly or yearly billing.
